The Industry Placement Program (IPP):
Provides students with an opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience, to enhance knowledge and skills. IPP is a unique pathway for businesses, government and industry to attract new talent with skills and interests relevant to the workplace. Placements are conducted 800 hours: 6 months full-time or 12 months part-time or 400 hours: 3 months full-time or 6 months part-time.
Careers and Employability provide career advice, assistance with finding work while you study, internships and vacation programs, volunteer work, graduate programs, and graduate jobs.
We offer a broad range of services including a number of workshops and programs on a range of employment related topics, offered both on campus and online. We can help with resume, cover letter, key selection criteria document reviews, job interview preparation and practice, access to volunteering opportunities, and careers information and resources. We also provide you with access to an online jobs portal EDGE, which gives you access to a range of current employment, volunteer and skills development opportunities.
Federation Advantage is an awards program which connects you to volunteering and other valuable activities outside of the classroom. Our program rewards students who go above and beyond during your time at University, giving you the opportunity to build skills, make a positive impact and boost your resume in time for graduation.
Located within the state of the art Health and Sports Precinct on the Mt Helen Campus, UniSports can help you to achieve your health and fitness goals. UniSports features a Health and Fitness Centre, heated indoor 25 metre pool, indoor sports stadiums, active studio, tennis courts with membership options available for students, staff and the community. UniSports also offers Learn to Swim programs, group fitness classes, personal training, children's birthday parties and facility hire for school and community organisations.

Federation Children's Centres, located at Mt Helen, Ballarat CBD (SMB) and Churchill provide quality childcare and kindergarten programs. Centres offer a caring and supportive environment with flexible and stimulating learning experiences. A wonderful environment in which to learn, explore and play.
